The app includes the following permission sets:

  • Decisions on Demand Policy Administrator
Full management access to business policies (except delete, see note 3 below)

  • Decisions on Demand Policy Author

Able to view and edit selected business policies
  • Decisions on Demand Policy User
Able to apply business policies and receive assignments or other updates to their owned records

These permission sets can be used to grant access to individual users at any time after installation.

  • Use of sharing rules
Access to individual policies for Policy Author users can be controlled using standard Salesforce sharing rules. See tables below for details.
  • Use with non standard licenses
The default permission sets are configured for a full Salesforce license. However the Decisions on Demand Policy User permissions are compatible with other license types as well. To grant permissions to users with a different license, create a new permission set and copy the permissions from the Decisions on Demand Policy User permission set.

Details of the access granted is shown in the tables below.

In the table above, ‘Sharing’ means that the access to individual policies is controlled by standard Salesforce sharing rules.

(1) Due to a packaging defect, the Decisions on Demand app may not appear correctly in the Permission Set. In that case, you can manually assign the app to the relevant profiles, or clone the permission sets and add the app to the cloned version.

(2) Only a Salesforce Administrator can access this tab

(3) Only a Salesforce Administrator can delete a policy – but a Decisions on Demand administrator can archive it.
